
Aim of the Project
The aim of this research is to develop an efficient and physics-based system which will integrate modeling and animation of character models into the same framework, and test it with an implemented plug-in software environment of the popular commercial animation package Maya. The system will be based on a new surface modelling and animation technique called 'physics based temporal and spatial sweeping surfaces'. The surfaces will be created and deformed by the solution to an initial-boundary-value problem in mathematics which consists of a physics based equation of motion and initial and boundary conditions. This new technique can reduce human labour in animating character models, improve efficiency of physics based modelling and animation, and lower data size of character models.
